The successful applicant to this position will be responsible for the implementation of a new pilot program at Big Brothers Big Sisters running in partnership with Ranstad Recruitment.
BBBS will use their experience and knowledge in youth mentoring to deliver a program targeted at young people considering leaving secondary school prematurely or transitioning from school to employment without a clear view for the future.
Ranstad will identify staff to be volunteers in the program and BBBS will be responsible for the screening, training and supporting of the Ranstad staff throughout their involvement in the program.
The BBBS worker will be responsible for recruiting potential candidates for the program from the BBBS waiting lists, schools and through relevant contacts and networks.
The Ranstad program will incorporate monthly interactive skilling workshops for the young people hosted by Ranstad and staffed by employee volunteers.
Following the skilling sessions, young people and Ranstad volunteers have the opportunity to be matched in a one to one mentoring relationship for a minimum of 6 months, supervised by the BBBS worker.
The mentor coordinator is also involved in monthly activities for young people waiting to be involved in the program, as well as any other events and activities associated with the organisation.
