LOOKING FOR WAYS YOU CAN HELP?!
There are endless ways you can show your support for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
We are always in need of:
Ongoing business donations – Is there a way your work place can help us fundraise? Maybe you can even sponsor a match or an activity day for the kids on our waiting list!
We are also looking for qualified Personal Trainers (that are or would like to be boxing focused or mitt specialised) living in the areas of:
Casey, Greater Dandenong, Cardinia, Maroondah, Kingston, Frankston/Mornington Peninsula and Knox.
Big Brothers Big Sisters are expanding to group mentoring in schools with a program called Mentoring in the Hood. The program focuses on nutrition, wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem in a safe and friendly environment. “The Hood” programs are one-hour, structured boxing classes, designed for young men and women who want to experience energy, motivation and passion, while building a strong sense of community. The young people participating in the programs are often living in vulnerable communities and can be easily identified as ‘disadvantaged’. The participants are mentored by a volunteer personal trainer/boxing instructor who takes on a Big Brother or Big Sister role and commits to building a friendship with, and supporting, the young people in their group. Each group – volunteers and young people – are supervised by a Group Mentoring Coordinator/Social Worker.

Activity day venues and activities – Each month we offer a group of young people from our waiting list an Activity Day. With minimal funding we are always looking for cheap/free entry into anything fun!
Corporate partnership. If you know of someone who is in the position to connect with Big Brothers Big Sisters with an ongoing partnership, help put us in contact with them.
Volunteering is a great way to contribute and give back to your community and at Big Brothers Big Sisters we understand an ongoing time commitment may be a little hard for some. We still welcome your support! Throughout the year we have a range of fundraising events and initiatives where we need 'all hands on deck'. You can show your support by checking in with us regularly and coming along to any days that suit your availabilities.
You can easily spread the Big Brothers Big Sisters word too! Just Like us on Face Book!
