Information Sessions

Thank you for taking the time to enquire about becoming a volunteer through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters receives a large amount of interest from people who wish to give their time and support to a Little Brother or Sister and sometimes this is more interest than we have the resources to manage. We have therefore been working hard at re-evaluating our current volunteer intake process.

BIGS and LITTLES Community Based Mentoring
Due to a significant backlog of volunteers already waiting to be involved with a Little Brother or Sister in a one to one friendship and a lack of staff resoruces to make more matches we are unfortunately not able to register any more volunteers to the role of Big Brother or Big Sister.
As we are constantly working towards finding more funding that will enable us to hire more staff and make more matches we are confident that this situation will only be temporary. We thank you for your paitience and understanding however during this time.

FIRST FRIENDS- Activity Day Mentoring
Big Brothers Big Sisters is excited to launch a new initiative called First Friends.
First Friends is a mentoring program that provides monthly activities to young people who are on our waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Young people who attend the monthly activities are matched up with a mentor on the day.

We are currently searching for Volunteer 'Bigs' who are interested in finding out more about the First Friends program.
We are holding a First Friends Information Session on Tuesday the 6th of March at 6.30pm

The information session will be held at:

Try Youth Services
