BEFORE YOU REGISTER

Before you register for one of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ upcoming Information Sessions, please note the following:

There is a surplus of female applicants in the Northern & Southern regions of Melbourne to be matched to young people in our 7-17 year old program.
While females from the Northern and Southern regions are welcome to attend an Information Session and submit a Volunteer Application Form, they need to be aware that there could be a 6 month wait before their application is processed.

We do have other mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters looking for female applicants in these areas. Please see our "Programs" page for these opportunities.

In contrast...

There are serious shortages of male mentors living across all areas of Melbourne.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is keen to increase the number of both male & female mentors living in the Western Metropolitan region.

We also have partnerships with organisations who are delivering Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring services in the following local government areas:

a.) City of Casey

b.) City of Brimbank and Moonee Valley

c.) Shire of Wangaratta.

There are shorter waiting times for volunteer applications to be processed in these localities.
